cure for doubt = TASTE

Do you doubt that God is mindful of your welfare? Do you doubt that God cares about what your passions? Do you doubt that God cares about what you do for a living to provide for your family? Do you doubt that God cares about your everyday emotions? Do you doubt God can love someone such as yourself? Do you just plain doubt that God would care about the simpliest things of your life?

I was blown away when a loved one voiced their doubt and I have been struggling ever since trying to capture the question. Matt. 6: 25-34 tells us not to worry because God feeds the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field. Are you not much more valuable than they? v26b. But really this is about worry and not doubt. Another verse began to stir me.

Do you remember your parents telling you just try the green veggies you just might like them? You tried it slowly with caution. Then you found that you loved the green beans. They were nothing like the mushy green balls of poison!

"O taste & see that the Lord is Good!" What ? Why is this verse about tasting? Tasting is about food. But wait..... What is that feeling you have right before you try something new? Hesitation? Doubt? Then you take that taste everything around you shuts down as you start to taste the new food. Your senses start to kick in as you ponder and savor the morsel. Not bad! You find it good.

"O taste and see that the Lord is Good! Blessed is the man who trusts and takes refuge in HIM." Ps 34:8 God has many promises. Whenever you feel that doubt that God really isn't mindful of you, taste and see that the Lord is Good. "God so loved 'you' " (John 3:16). His love means He is mindful of you and your welfare. Think of it as if you were a father. A father loves his children. He is mindful of his children's welfare. Are they fed? Are they living healthy? Are they happy? How are their wings? Are they catching their dreams? A father will do everything possible to provide for his children's welfare. Just imagine our Heavenly Father is 70 x 7 more mindful of our most simpliest concerns in our life journeys.

"Blessed is the man who TRUSTS and takes REFUGE in Him." When you taste you are giving in and trusting. Now tell me what the feeling is after you have fully tasted a fine chocolate? A bubbly satisfaction!!!!! What a happy safe feeling. You just tasted to see how God is mindful of your welfare. Now you have a smile of satisfaction filling up your soul. Sitting in God's lap safe and secure is my best chocolate to you. "The Lord your God is with you. He is Mighty to save. He will take great delight in YOU. He will quiet you with His Love. He will rejoice over you with singing."

Still in doubt? Hesitating? Go for it. Just Taste!
" To enjoy the flavors of life take big bites "
monster unbelief
