We the People....

There has been one thread that has intertwined through out this 2016 election for me.  From discussing politics with a friend on the other side of the world to the work emails about reacquainting ourselves with the Constitution to the actual outcome of the election, there has been one thing that kept repeating.

In Australia you must vote or you pay a fee.  You vote for a party and the party votes for a person.  This was brought home to me again when I sent a sample ballot to my friend.  The question sent back was "you get to vote for all these people?"  Here in the States We the People vote for Presidential candidates.  We the People vote for the actual President.  On Tuesday night each vote made came together to make one powerful statement.  I think we all were shock and stunned.  There was not just the 2 major candidates and independents, but the most important element was We the People.

Our country's two most important documents comes down to We the People.  When you look at the document of the Declaration of Independence, what is striking are the signatures at the bottom.  The 56 signers were not politicians but people first.  They paid a huge price for this pledge to set up a country that gave all men life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and firmly relying on the protection of Divine Providence.  5 were arrested by the British as traitors, 12 had their homes looted and burned by the enemy, 17 lost their fortunes, 2 lost sons in the Continental Army and 9 fought and died during the Revolutionary War.  When it comes to the Constitution James Madison may have wrote the the initial draft called the Virginia Plan but it was 55 delegates presided by George Washington that made modifications to this document at the Constitutional Convention.  These delegates were not politicians but people first.  The Constitution opens up with We the People of the United States.

What was the one thread?  We the People.

Tuesday night We the People made a statement and it rocked the world.  We the People did not make a statement about a candidate rather we made a statement about ourselves.  I am afraid We the People have some problems.

Its:
religion vs religion vs no religion
race vs race
immigrant vs citizen
common man vs media vs Hollywood
morals vs doing what is right in our own eyes
progressive liberalism vs conservative restraint
rural vs city

We are a selfie generation out of control.  We demand our rights and forgets the rights of others.  We go about our lives splattering ourselves all over everyone else.  No one respects.  No one is respected.  There is much ado about political correctness but no self control.

The hot button word Mandate was thrown out there this past week.  The Mandate is not for the President-Elect.  The Mandate is for We the People.

What is that Mandate for We the People?

How about starting with the Constitution?  May I purpose this mandate for We the People?

"We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution of the United States of America" vowed to love one another from this day forward.  It is no longer about the selfie rather it is about respecting and uplifting my fellow man.

How do we go forward?  May I purpose to go to the lives of our Founding Fathers?  They were the first We the People.  Start with George Washington and James Madison.  Our Founding Fathers paid a very high price to give us Freedom and Liberty.  They put their beliefs to work and were willing to die for it.  Why?

I do not want to be the one generation that failed all the generations of We the People of these United States.

a little election timeline ...

for the past year:
I have been having a conversation about the election with my Australian friend.  We are respectful and feel safe expressing our thoughts with each other.  There has not been the least bit of animosity towards each other about this election.  Now why would he be interested in my election?  I asked him if he was vested in the outcome?  He said yes.  There is a kinship that he feels.  We have discussed his politics as well.

The differences between our politics are that I am a patriotic voter.  I haven't missed an opportunity to vote except for one primary.  He has to vote or he gets to pay a fine.  I vote for people.  He votes for the party and the party decides the person.  There has been some upheaval and hijinks with the PM office.  There has been four PM's in the span that Obama has been in office.  If someone in your party thinks you aren't doing your job, they will do a 'civil' coo and take your spot!

I have heard of heated arguments causing family members to refuse talking to each other.  My own brother got mad over FB posts that my father had posted.  I refuse to let silly political opinions get in the way of important things!  My loved ones are important.  I have also have been putting my focus on God & things above.  This will pass away.  Straw & chaff.

the week before:
I have been fortifying myself on Isaiah 33.  Oh, how pertinent to right now!

Sunday November 6, 2016:
I sent a sample ballot to my Australian friend to show him who I was voting for.  His question was 'you vote for all the people listed?" It just drove the point home to me how I got to vote for people & not just a party...

Tuesday November 8, 2016:
I cast my lot.  I stood in line for 18 minutes and 55 seconds & that was a first for me! I never had to stand in line before.  While waiting found myself 'profiling' others around me wondering which candidate they were voting for.  I planned on checking out the results for the first bit knowing that it was going to go to Hillary then I was going to pop in a movie and then off to bed.  My state was the first to go to Trump.  Wait!  Something is up with Florida......  I ended up chatting with my Australian friend as we both watched the American people make a statement!

Wednesday November 9, 2016:
A new day!  Psalm 40:2  "He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the muck & mire; He set my feet on the Rock & gave me a firm place to stand."  It wasn't who got in the highest office of the land.  It was that the election was the period at the end of a very murky and slimy chapter.  Now a new chapter awaits all fresh and clean to start anew.  Again it isn't about who was elected but rather it was that each vote casted came together and made a huge statement that stunned the world.  Now to figure out what to do.

Thursday November 10, 2016:
The transition of power has begun although very awkward & stiff.  The hot button word -- mandate -- was used because all three Branches of government are held by Republicans.  Protests in all its ugliness are have been organized & have been very destructive.

When I heard mandate, I stopped.  No, the mandate isn't for the president-elect.  The mandate is the people.  They made the statement Tuesday night.  The people need to decide what that mandate is.  Let me say it for the people!

People's Mandate:  "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, & secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves & our posterity, do ordain & establish this Constitution for the United States of America"   have vowed to love one another from this day forward.  It is no longer about the selfie.  It is about respecting & uplifting my fellowman.  That is what union is all about -- perfecting our love for one another.

Yes, I know tall order!  But when you have the silent make their voice heard, it means they have been forgotten & it will not be tolerated anymore.  We cannot survive by being this divided!!!!  Behaving is a better statement than protesting.

John 15:8  "This is My Father's Glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples."   What times we live in.  What a contrast my life can be in this dark world...

Friday November 11, 2016:
I have a foxhole view of what is happening.  I am livid that people are resorting to protests.  Protests have never been constructive.  I am trying to figure out how American can survive.  My Australian friend sees a more arial view.  He sees a revolution that is spreading worldwide.  It isn't just Brexit or America's election but other countries like Australia is finding that expanding a progressive liberal agenda has to contract because it doesn't work.

Psalm 5:8  'Lead me, O Lord, in Your Righteousness because of my enemies-- make straight Your Way before me.'

an angry American & an Ancient Path ...

I am an angry American.  Here I stand on the cliff of time where looking forward, all I can see is destruction of a country I was born and bred in and harbor a love and patriotism for.  When I look behind, I see an ancient old path straight, strong and true that built this nation on a very formidable foundation.  An ancient pathway that holds true to piety and self control along with freedom from government dictating personal religion.  The Bible was our founding fathers' guide to create a country that would serve God.  An ancient pathway long overgrown and barely visual today.

The dissenting voices have become like bombs and clanging cymbals drowning out God's Ancient Still Voice.  Many have recanted their so called beliefs to be like everyone else so as to be politically correct and socially relevant.  They  have forgotten what there parents had told them.  Something about 'would you jump off a cliff if everyone else is doing so?' It is like a gay parade cloaking themselves in rainbow loud colors to hide a tarnish and blackish meshed hazy soul where freedom means no self restraint or self control.  This parade is so clamorous and so narcissistic they do not see the cliff they are marching off of and into the pit.  Do not think that I am insensitive as I tried to understand coworkers who have taken on this alternative lifestyle.  They can be super nice but my love and loyalty lies with God the Father who is a jealous God and wants our selfless love no matter how frail and human it is.   Sadly, as I look at all the gays that have surfaced, I no longer see them as male or female but rather as an it deprived of the great differences and characteristics that make males strong and females beautiful.  It is a very grey murky world.

What gets me most as an American is the taking God out of every thread that make us great and dragging our founding fathers through the mud.  Last week US Supreme Court decision to make gay marriage legal made me ill.  It is most difficult when the other side seems to winning at destroying our moral fabric and you know that once the salt is taken from this world, Sodom and Gomorra destruction will rain down once again.  Even though the world is heavy in labor pains, I have a sure foundation.  I have an ancient path to trace to my present time ... to pull back the weeds and clear the path.

Let me tell you about US Supreme Court member, James Wilson who came from Scotland in 1765 to study law and obvious stayed!  He was appointed to the US Supreme Court by President George Washington in 1789.  James Wilson holds the distinction of being one of the six Founding Fathers to sign both the Declaration of Independence AND the Constitution.  Benjamin Rush, a physician, fellow signer of the Declaration of Independence, father of the public schools and I could go on, described James Wilson's mind as a "blaze of light ... He rendered great and essential services to his country in every stage of the Revolution."  Here is a quote from James Wilson on the law of God being the 'supreme law.'  "Having thus stated the question -- what is the efficient cause of the moral obligation? -- I give this answer -- the will of God.  This is the supreme law.  His just and full right of imposing laws, and our duty in obeying them, are the sources of our moral obligations." (The Laws of Nature, 1790)  Oh how my heart began to soar again.  This my heritage.  This is my America.  This is my US Supreme Court that I can cheer on... to shout an Amen.

The US Supreme Court of 1885 (144 US 15,45) "Certainly no legislation can be be supposed more wholesome and necessary in the founding of a free, self-governing commonwealth ... then that which seeks to establish it on the basis of the idea of the family, as consisting in and springing from the union for life of one man and one woman in the holy estate of matrimony; [the family is] the sure foundation of all that is stable and noble in our civilization; the best guarantee of that reverent morality which is the source of all beneficent progress in social and political improvement."

I know I shouldn't be an angry American since I'm just as pass'in through.  I am a citizen of Heaven.  I am in God's Kingdom.  I know Who wins.  America will not be in Heaven.  True.  But our founding father's dreamed a very huge dream.  They wanted to be a beacon to rest of the world.  I want to keep that dream alive.  I look to this ancient path, this ancient bloodline to not give up and to reach out in God's Grace and His Everlasting Love to my fellow American citizens, to be God's ambassador.....

So this Fourth of July I put a spotlight on the Supreme Law that has made this country and holding to this Supreme Law will keep this country....

************

This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.

But you said, 'we will not walk in it.'

I appointed a watchmen over you and said, 'Listen to the sound of the trumpet!'

But you said, 'we will not listen.'

Therefore hear, you nations; you who are witnesses, observe what will happen to them.  Hear, you earth: I am bringing disaster on this people, the fruit of their schemes, because they have not listened to My Words and have rejected My Law."

Elections 2012

Help, Lord, for the godly are no more;
the faithful have vanished from among men.

Everyone lies to his neighbor;
their flattering lips speak with deception.

May the Lord cut off all flattering lips
and every boastful tongue that says, “We will triumph with our tongues;
we own our lips—who is our master?”

“Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy,
I will now arise,” says the Lord.
“I will protect them from those who malign them.”

And the Words of the Lord are flawless,
like silver refined in a furnace of clay,
purified seven times.

O Lord, You will keep us safe
and protect us from such people forever.

The wicked freely strut about
when what is vile is honored among men. ~Psalm 12:1-8

I was listening to this passage being read and I have stopped to go over it repeatedly and meditatively This is America. This is the world. …

Where are God's faithful? Where is the salt? Where is the light? Am I making a difference in my world? Am I doing my part and keeping America from the burning sulfur? Oh, how I feel the heat on the back of my neck and the sulfur stench burns my tender nose.…

Having a liberal minded orator spew his jargon promoting moral decline and calling it part of the civil rights. Let's call it the truth. Live without self control. Live to your flesh. It is your choice. Lies all lies.

To live as you choose, to live your life outside the box and splatter all over, to have no rules is to live with your fist against God and against your fellowman. If throughout time we had one man and one woman marriages without divorce or same sex connections, there would be no sexual disease. In fact our families would be stronger and in turn our country and then our world. Honoring God in every part of our life is far more important than having superpower status.

We are a needy people but why would God save us a defiant people and bent on doing it our way?

O Lord, You will keep us safe
and protect us from such people forever.

The wicked freely strut about
when what is vile is honored among men. ~Psalm 12:1-8

what a way to go!

Whew!  All the 911 stuff brings up a lot of feelings.  A question has come to mind as I hear the stories all over again.  If I had a hubby who called me to tell me good bye before he met the Lord, what would I say?

The answer comes quickly.  Psalms 23 seems top on everyone's list but for me it would be Psalms 100.  This particular Psalms gives such strength and gives you something constructive to do when chaos is raining down all around you and when you feel the fires heat bear down your neck and when you feel the foundations give way .....

Psalms 100
Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands.
The battle is the Lord's.  What is a joyful shout but a battle cry?
Serve the Lord with gladness;
... even in difficult times, even in a blaze of fire, even when you storm the terrorist in a plane headed for the White House, even if you are all alone gasping for the next breath of air,...
come before His Presence with singing.
Singing changes your brain for the better even if all you can get out is a few whimpering notes... He hears you.  He is with you.  He is singing over you.  Can't you hear Him singing?
Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
We were made by His Hand and He has plans for us.  We are weak.  He is strong.  He is our Hope and all we have to do is trust and obey Him.  What a Great Shepherd He is.  We are NEVER EVER FORSAKEN!  Keep marching onward!
Enter into His Gates with Thanksgiving, and into His Courts with Praise, be thankful to Him, and bless His Holy Name.
If is time to go on into Glory what better way to do so than with thanksgiving when meeting God face to face.  If is time to stay here and come before Him in prayer and all is taken from my hand, it is His plan not my own and I will come before Him and thank Him for what I did have and will wait upon the Lord for what is and is to come.
For the Lord is good; His Mercy is everlasting, and His Truth endures to all generations.
Yes, the kids will know not only their earthy father but their Heavenly Father as well.  God is both Protector and Provider.  We shall meet again.  I have the memories.  We serve and love the One True God.  Those who come behind us will know of our love for each other but more importantly for our Lord and Master.

The visuals are overloading my mind as I step into the 'shoes'.  I am sure the emotions would be raw and the cracks would be in my voice but what strength I find in Psalms 100 and would want to give it out to my loved ones whether or not it was me facing the my final (finest) hours or it was my loves ones.

O to enter HIS GATES a shouting!!!!!  with all the JOY within me bursting out of all my seams!  What a way to go!!!!

patriotic for the Kingdom ...

I am a bit of a patriotic junkie. I like the flag and the story behind the flag. Every time the National Anthem plays, I am taken back to seeing the ripped and torn flag still there. My favorite decorating color is blue and from my teaching days the red apples combined to a patriotic living room with the flag and stars being the main feature. I love the rich bold colors and I enjoy wearing them too. I love the history and I tear up on the dedication given with sweat and lives.

I have been thinking about my patriotism for my real homeland because I am just passing through this one. Am I patriotic of the Kingdom of God? Is being patriotic for the Kingdom of God shown in my desire to win souls for Christ?

Every time I see my fellow man striving after worldly things that do not satisfy or when they are in the midst of trouble, all I can think about is how are they surviving without the Hand of God guiding them in the sorrows?

{sighs}

I see treasure stored in heaven as people... but being the witness has been a daily lesson that I get so discourage with.... I am to be the salt and light here... I am the raiment left ... saving America (and the world) from the end times ... am I making a difference? Once the salt is gone... woe to the world....

As I add more numbers to my days, the patriotism for America dims (and yes, heightens for Americans to get right with God), my patriotism for Christ and His Kingdom grows. I see that as a right of passage for the believer who is growing in Christ. I smile at that... especially after having a discussion with an Australian believer over patriotism. I had a lot of love for my country and was convicted and wasn't sure how to convert it to love for my homeland, Heaven. It all stems from falling in Love with Christ Jesus and the Word of God.... It comes! It helps too (sadly) that American has fallen away from her roots. Our country isn't under God anymore and I weep for the promise that we have broken on our part.... I have a promise to keep.... I must be the salt worthy to flavor and influence my place here while passing through....

Happy 233rd Birthday!

Not sure why the Forth of July is a favorite holiday of mine... Maybe it is because there is soooo much history here on this land. Maybe it is because men were seeking a place to have the freedom to have a relationship with the Almighty God. Maybe it is because so many were seeking a place of refuge. Maybe it is because this place is a place to for invention and creativity. Maybe it is the colors of the flag. Maybe it is because there are fireworks. May it because of Lady Liberty and the quote on her foundation. Or just maybe every time I sing the National Anthem I can actually see Francis Scott Key writing his poem in a boat offshore and looking for Old Glory.

''Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
& you who have no money
come, buy wine & milk
without money & without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
& your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to Me, & eat what is good,
& your soul will delight in the richest of fare
Give ear & come to Me;
hear Me, that your soul may live.
I will make an Everlasting Covenant with you,
My Faithful Love promised to David.
See, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
a leader & commander of the peoples.''

Seek the Lord while He may be found;
call on Him while He is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way
& the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the Lord, & He will have mercy on him,
& to our God, for he will freely pardon.
~ lsa 55:1-4, 6-7

He will be the Sure Foundation of your times,
a Rich Store of Salvation & Wisdom & Knowledge;
the Fear of the Lord is the key to this Treasure.
~ Isa 33:6

There is something about seeking ... It seems that it is a universal quest among humankind even if it is not verbal. The Almighty is a believer's Liberty that stands on the Harbor welcoming us home. He is a Refuge and this beggar and alien of God is trying to tell another beggar and alien where the Everlasting Food and Water is...

I know the good USofA is not my home and I am just passing through, but I feel a heavy burden to hold true to what our Forefathers wanted for this country. I feel ashamed that she has turned away...

my Rest

fireworks 2009

It was a chilly night considering it was July! A jacket was a must and a blanket might have been nice too. Ice cream from a near by shop was eaten by some. One treat looked especially good. The outside was a waffle cone, ice cream, and what looked liked a chocolate block! Oh, but the chilly treat would have been more delicious on a hot day not a cool evening even if fireworks where the main event!

A wonderful soft yellow sunset gave way to bruised clouds and stars. Families gathered with blankets and camping chairs to take in the towns fireworks. Fireflies occupied a moment or two of an anxious little 2 year old waiting for pretties to light up the sky. It was way after her bedtime but she hung on. The adults where anxious for blankets and light jackets as the moon shone brightly. What was unbelievable was how many pups were out! Our brood of three was home in their little dens safe from noise. Oh, how they hate them booms.

Small firework shows started to pop but then the two main events began to light up the sky with ooo's, ahhh's, and delightful squeals from little tikes. Lovers snuggled close on blankets, parents and grandparents juggled a 2 year old who wanted to share the delight of pretties rain in the sky, 'Sity, Sity, look pretties!!' One child pierced the night folly with a tortured scream but as the it came to an end, clapping gave the night lights appreciation of a country's freedom fight.

Fireworks by the Lake last night, fireworks on the tube tonight, and more fireworks looking out my bedroom window tomorrow night? mmmm, priceless! Love a good fireworks!

Tattered flag ...

I love Old Glory. It is a unique flag with colors of Red, White, & Blue. My home's color scheme is based on these colors from the cobalt blue jars and bottles to creamy stars. Blue is soothing and calm with a confidence to keep at the fight of good. Red is that fight and struggle to keep prudent and not let it be a bad thing to care for the values and morals of this country. White is standing on the absolutes of God's Right Ways.

I always see the Francis Scott Key's flag as he wrote about it so long ago. His eyes beheld a tatter flag. I can't help but see that this beautiful flag has become very tattered and frayed. We no longer put our trust in God and when we do that God no longer blesses us. We cannot cry out 'God Bless America' when we no longer fight for right ways.

Life in the womb is no longer precious nor is the role of women or men. We would rather change our sex or go same sex as an act of defacing the very Creator who created us as such. Yes, the flag is tattered .... and yet we want to be blessed..

US takeover = falsehood ...

I read an opinion poll about the USA and her relationship with the rest of the world. I am always livid when it comes to these most likely is because I never liked following the crowd and I have a slight hang up or a major hang up when it comes to being liked. These two things just don't mix and causes me much angst.

However, you can hate the President that I love and you can hate a country that I love but when it comes to the comment where the Americans are all about taking over the world, I become enraged with a white hot searing anger. I've been on this planet nearing 40 years and there is not an agenda in our DNA to take over the world. It is in our DNA that we fall in love with the underdog and cheer him on. It is in our DNA to act like a young teenager who thinks in new ways instead of older more sour ways. Yes, we should not overlook the older wiser tried and true ways. It is in our DNA to be more of a cowboy with its rugged black and white in the sense of good and evil. It is in our DNA to give when a need arises. It is in our DNA to take out the evil. It is in our DNA to be free and allow others to enjoy that freedom too. Yes, we are a rambunctious lot and we get ahead of ourselves. My only fault with America and I can say this because I am an American is that we do need to return to our faith for which our country was built upon. We need to keep our balance and not stray to far on the wild side/ no boundaries or to the calm-do-nothing side/ all walls to hold everything out. We need to be creative and change our world in kinder and fresher ways. Holding to our faith, staying balanced, and being creative will only add to our entrepreneurial 'cowboyishness' love for the underdog.

Q's:
What fear is there in freedom? Could you be listening to the voices of the wind and making up your mind than standing firm on what you have tested? Are you listening to the oil markets and causing the prices to rise? Did you buy the extra house to flip or the house out of your means because of lax rules? Did you not go with the flow? Do you like to blame the government instead of yourself? Would you like to live a cushy existence given by the government than to go out and cease the day or cease the dreams and passions you might harbor in the forgotten corners of your heart? Would you rather let the government take care of the poor or would you rather get dirty in the trenches of life and give a helping hand? Do you like to put in too small preset notches? Do you liked to be mislabeled? Do you always want to be whatever you are doing at this moment? Do you want better? Do you want the government to condition your children's faith and learning? Or do you want to have a say in teaching your kids? Are quite fat and happy depending on mortal man and his fleshy ways? Or would you rather have the Almighty God in your life? Are depending on your wisdom or the general earth wisdom or God's Ultimate Wisdom?

ARE YOU JEALOUS? WOULDN'T YOU LIKE TO MAKE YOUR OWN DECISIONS? WHAT IS YOUR CHOICE? FINALLY, BE HONEST - AREN'T YOU JEALOUS?

See if you are going to make your opinions known about us, isn't that being too interested in our doings? Wouldn't that energy be put to better uses by changing your own world? Talk is cheap. Action is rich.

change your thoughts - change your life

Quit looking at us and start living your own...

Freedom Rock ...

I just happened to hear about this guy who paints on a rock. Our college had a 'smaller' rock that we would paint on and such. So when I heard about this, my ears perked. I had to see for my own eyes! I love paint and I love a good artist. This guy does an excellent job. What a tribute too!

Being that gas prices are at a $4/gal dollar high, internet surfing is the best way to see this art. They have last years shot up and will have this years soon. It is worth a lonnnnnnng look. This is a good size rock and each angle has a USA patriotic story within.

lightening, fireflies, & fireworks...

It was three way fireworks for me! The sun had gone down but the last lights where bouncing off the thundercloud sitting in the southern sky. Within that thundercloud was God's lightening spreading wide and high. The usual lightening comes from the west and comes east in a random order. Not tonight. It stayed within the mean looking white cloud. Purely spectacular! In the grasses was the fireworks that happen from lightening bugs/fireflies. Soft yellow glows softly coming on and off. A gentle peace. And lastly all over the southern and western skies just above the tree lines where amateur fireworks poping and wizzing in sparks of colors and whites. Patriotic music playing softly as the tv was making their own fireworks. How I enjoyed the view.

a salt piller or salt? which are you?

I wept so much I couldn't sing the patriotic hymns this past Sunday. I wept during the fireworks that night. I wept when I saw people waiting to become US citizens especially the Austrailian guy who was sporting the Australian light heartedness and accent. I know that I will weep some more before I lay me down to sleep tonight. I will weep for the soldiers fighting and for the families waiting. I will weep when I hear the President. I will weep when I watch more fireworks. I will weep when I hear the National Anthem as my mind recreates the scene where Francis Scott Key sees that the tattered FLAG was still there.

Tears mean something. Have you ever been in church and see someone there quietly weeping and you see not what is moving in their heart? There are no loud sobs just a glistening tear making a slow track down a soft cheek. A wonder stirs your soul. What is happening? Sadness, longing, joy, pain, burden, delight, peace, God-Whispering? Could be anything...

So what has me in a soggy mess? I think it is love, burden, and Joy in my God that has been moving me to tears. I love the good ol' USA. I err on being overly patriotic. I express it in the colors I surround myself. I remember the cost and I remember the forefather's intent every time I sing the National Anthem. I know God's Blessing that is spelled out in the Old Testiment where He will be near the nations who God is the Lord. And yes, the Blessing that comes when you are a friend of Isreal. I don't want my America to be the biggest and the best of the world. I just what her to give and to be good.

I had a discussion in 2004 that has stayed with me. Someone from another country was questioning my passionate choice of President and even my loyality to a country as a believer. I just remember the question of sort and nothing else. It is 2007 and I still think about it so much that it has become a debate of sorts for me over country vs. Kingdom.

I will always have a very soft spot for my America. I will always strive to make her a better place by living peacefully as Paul told us in Romans. I want her to continue to be a gracious and good country. I want her to remain that way until He comes. I have a picture prayer from the Old Testiment. Remember Abraham pleading with the Angel of the Lord? He was asking for God to spare Sodom and Gamorrah if there was a certain number of those who feared the Lord. Abraham kept begging until he got down to 10. He thought he have covered the bases well to keep his nephew alive. As you know the there wasn't enough of those who feared God. The Almighty did allow Lot, his wife, and daughters a way out while He burned the two towns for their moral rot. Focus in on what happened to Lot's wife. She turned around to watch the towns burn. I am sure Lot pleaded and begged his family to keep looking straight ahead and obey God. No, it was too much. She turned and looked in that instant she was frozen into a pillar of salt.

Salt. I find it quite interesting. God's purpose for the believer is to live peacefully and to redeem the time. Short orders but hard ones to carry out. Redeeming the time was visually described as salt and light by Jesus in the New Testiment. A believer's life should be conducted in such a way that it brings flavor, trust, and preservation as well as limunation, sight, and clarity to those around him. Salt. I am intrigued. I wrap all my wondering thoughts around these two pictures ... the piller of salt looking back onto smoldering rumble of two sin-fest cities or salt preserving cities and countries around the world. What type of salt are you?

Shhhhhhhh, listen. Hear it .... giving freedom to others is huge and America loves an underdog but what is supreme over that is the giving of Salvation. A believer's country comes second to the higher calling of the Kingdom. Redeem the time. Make way for His Glory to shine... He is here to save and to love. He waits for all His lost sheep to come home.

For you brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. ~ Gal 5:13

in God I trust ...

If I had my way, this war would never have been commenced. If I had been allowed my way, this war would have ended before this. But we find it still continues; and we must believe that He permits it for some wise purpose of His own, mysterious and unknown to us; and though with our limited understandings we may not be able to comprehend it, yet we cannot but believe, that He who made the world still governs it.

We are indeed going through a great trail - a fiery trial. In the very responsible position in which I happen to be placed, being a humble instrument in the hands of our Heavenly Father, as I am , and as we all are, to work out His great purposes, I have desired that all my works and acts may be according to His will, and that it might be so, I have sought His aid.
~ Abraham Lincoln, October 6, 1862

I do not doubt that our country will finally come through safe and undivided. But do not misunderstand me... I do not rely on the patriotism of our people... the bravery and devotion of the boys in blue... or the loyalty and skill of our generals...

... But the God of our fathers, Who raised up this country to be the refuge and asylum of the oprpressed and downtrodden of all nations, will not let it perish now, I may not live to see it ... I do not expect to see it, but God will bring us through safe.
~ Abraham Lincoln, June 1863 weeks before the Battle of Gettysburg

When everyone seemed panic-stricken... I went to my room ... and got down on my knees before Almighty God and prayed... Soon a sweet comfort crept into my soul that God Almighty had taken the whole business into His own hands...
~ Abraham Lincoln

Wow! I find huge comfort from a great President of old to the President today - a humble human prespective. Two men alone in their wars but standing in their faith of the Almighty. The human history books will surely pale in the light of the Kingdom's history books. I cannot wait to pour over those Heavenly volumes!
