I listen to Ravi on BnnRadio.org on Sundays and he always gets me thinking. He said that when you reading the Ten Commandments that you really should put in the word SACRED. So I tried it and you should to.
Here is my list:
1. God is Sacred.
2. Serving & Loving God is Sacred / Every day with God is Sacred.
3. God's Name is Sacred.
4. the Sabbath is Sacred.
5. Honoring your parents is Sacred.
6. Life is Sacred.
7. Marriage is Sacred.
8. Boundaries are Sacred.
9. Truth is Sacred.
10. Contentment is Sacred.
Your list just might be different than mine but hopefully it just might jar your heart from the numbness everyday life can have on it. I know I am looking at the Ten Commandments differently. They are sweeter and dearer ...
All of us are assigned a journey. It is called Life. It is not a problem to be solved rather it is an adventure to live out to our fullest & a mystery unfolding for us to enjoy deeply. What experiences do you wish to have on this earth? How do you want this world to be different when you leave? I am excited by growing & I would like share the joy.

flourish = Joy's verb ...
Joy is a state of being content & trusting in God. Flourish is Joy in verb form and it is beautiful!
When I think of flourish, my mind is overflowing with good things like beautiful, color popping flowers flourishing in a gentle breeze. Simply put, just winsome. I love how flourish is described in Psalms 92:12-15:
A palm tree is made stronger when it bends in horrific winds and on a beautiful day, a palm tree is so tall and flourishes against a blue sky. Do I bend under God's allowance of storms or do I fight against what He is doing in my life?
When I am planted in the House of the Lord, there will I be most joyful and flourishing. I see the House of the Lord anywhere I am in communion with God via His Word and my prayers, thanksgiving, and hymns. It is also my obedience (good fruit) as my love shared to Him. This is were I am most beautiful and the most flourishing. What is my return? a nice big fat, fruitful, and flourishing me! {beautiful}

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree
Those that be planted in the House of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
To show that the LORD is upright: He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

unscathed & unmarred ...
''I just don't understand why you would say no to my friendship and say yes to a silent telephone and quiet evenings all by yourself with no one to talk to. I just don't understand.''
''I am sorry but my no is a solid no. I cannot defend myself before you in this matter. If my fate is to spend the rest of my days and evenings alone, the God I serve will defend and will commune with me. He will rescue me from myself and from loneliness. But even if He doesn't me from aloneness, I will not compromise the way that I live. I desire to live truthfully so that what I think, I can say and what I say, I do. No secrets. I will not worship my desires but will worship the One True God. I am a free woman! Why be bound to my lusts? Yes, I may live in my head too much but like the days of old when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into the furnace, there was the Son of God walking about with them. Not hair was singed. I too can throw out my fears and doubts that lick like flames around my tortured mind and heart. I too can walk about hand in hand with the Son of God in this furnace call loneliness and come out unscathed. I am precious in His sight and will always be unmarred...''

at what cost?
Twice today the question was posed by two different radio speakers so I thought I better pay attention and write it down. The question goes like this:
At what cost are you willing to do right? or How much are you willing to pay to do what is right?
At what cost are you willing to turn to wrong? or How much are you willing to pay to do what is wrong? or What will it take for you to do wrong?
Yes, it can be asked in different ways. And as I was trying to write it down as I heard it, I realized that asked in a certain way can cause more of a catch in the thought. You see when I phrase it with cost rather than pay, I realized that cost brings on the darker side of things whereas pay, I might just gloss it over and not get the real meaning.
A bit of caution here. If you really haven't messed up and have been a 'goody two shoes', you think you can handle the cost. Unfortunately, my older wiser self {smirk} would tell my younger self just what exactly tripped me up. I would answer the question what I was willing to pay to do wrong. I don't think my younger self would have believe my older self. {sadly}
I do hope that my now self will find and keep the good fencing God has placed around me. I want my future self to look back and be proud of me! It is about how purely and beautifully I can live my life and not how close to the edge I can live without getting dirty.
